Maternity Leave (sort of)

Updated: Aug 23, 2020

I am officially on Maternity Leave from client photoshoots (not product-fulfillment and other business stuff) until May.

I almost don’t know what to do with myself on weekends without my client photoshoots!  I’ve been fortunate to have been booked solid for 9 straight months — every Saturday and Sunday from May 2009 through January 2010.  Sigh… I already miss my clients!

Well, I now have time to finish my website work.  I’ll also have some fun marketing campaigns that involve giveaways and contests, so make sure you are a “Fan” of Annie Tao Photography in Facebook and continue to check back on this blog!

Last weekend, I was incredibly fortunate.  I got together with two talented photographer friends, Kim Sayre of Mill Cottage Photography and Amy Shat of Oaks and Acorns Photography, and they shot my maternity portraits!  This was my first time doing a professional shoot where I was in FRONT of the camera, not in the back, shooting other people!  What a strange experience.

Luckily, I had Jenni Huse of The Powder Room do my hair and makeup to make me look my best, even when I wasn’t feeling it from being in the last stretch of my pregnancy.  She was great.  I highly recommend her for weddings and other important events!

Here are a few photos of my urban maternity photoshoot…

I’ll share a couple photos from Amy Shat once I get my hands on those!  It is always fun to see how different photographers capture the same subject.
