Aptly in Aptos

I watched a movie the other day, named "Father Stu" with Mark Wahlberg (2022). There was a line towards the end that pierced my soul: We shouldn't pray for an easy life, but the strength to endure a difficult one. I completely agree.
They are from hardships that we gain our greatest opportunities to learn; the bumps in the road are what gives excitement for change; the challenges that feel the hardest at the time end up being the most rewarding to overcome.
This amazing family I photographed last weekend are of a younger generation, but they have similar views on the world as I do -- so it is so cool when we have our shoots because we often end by talking about life.
What was also cool was how they rolled with the changes: they had to reschedule, and instead of seeing that as a negative, they turned it into an opportunity. Since the new date ended up being a long weekend, they decided to travel towards me for a completely different vibe. We started in aaaadorable Aptos Village, then walked on the railroad tracks and danced in the redwoods! We had different backdrops, completely different temperatures, and very different light -- all in the same shoot.
