As long as we can breathe, we can hope.
~ Anita Lasker-Wallfisch (1925- )
Anita Lasker-Wallfisch was a holocaust survivor whose life was saved by playing in the Auschwitz Women's Orchestra. After the war was over, she moved to Britain, met her husband Peter Wallfisch, and became a founding member of the British Chamber Orchestra where she toured around the World. During her international tour, she refused to go to Germany until one day in 1994, she decided to visit. But she did not go to play the cello; instead, she gave lectures to students about her experience in the war.
Ms. Lasker-Wallfisch is not only a talented cellist, but also an inspiration in integrity, tenacity, and hope.
Below are other quotes from famous cellists that resonated with me. Enjoy! ❤️
