Reflections

As we approach the end of December, I cannot help but see similarities of how a year is like a book with a thickening narrative, story's climax, and resolution; or music with crescendos and diminuendos.

Each year also fills with new experiences, learnings, and sometimes, if we are lucky, moments of unbelievable strength while in trenches that even my 10-year old self would be proud of. And this year was just that!

The spirit of reflecting is an activity one should do periodically because it is almost always accompanied by optimism and hope. It is a time to say au revoir to the things that don't serve us well, and make more space for the things that lift us.

My last Lifestyle Family Shoot for 2025 was of Carol's beautiful family in the South Bay. (Karl the Fog insisted on joining the shoot -- so, thank you, Karl, for making the images so dreamy!) Carol's shoot had it all -- sweet tender moments to falling over silliness -- all wonderful slices of time I was honored to capture. Going through their images is what prompted me to reflect on my year. ✨
