Urban Family Photography: Tunnel of Love

This morning’s lifestyle photography was in San Francisco, where there is pretty much every kind of backdrop you can imagine.

We traveled by foot, stroller and glider bike, and ended up with a variety of activities and backgrounds!  Hence, the extra long sneak peek!

Beautiful Light

Delicious glowy light, isn’t it?  Too bad this light quickly changed to super bright, harsh light!

However, just this shot alone made it worth my waking up at the crack of dawn.  I can still hear the rooster!  ;)

By the way, these may look like still portraits, but in actuality, I was chasing them to get these!

It’s called:  Put on a fast lens and sneakers…and ruuuun!  :)

Tunnel of Love

Cheesy title?  Oh c’mon, you know you were thinking the same thing!

I knew this would be one of my all-time favorite Couple’s Shots right when I took it.

Now if only we had a babysitter for the kids, we could have taken more than this one shot.  We literally had seconds!  Don’t ask where we put the kids for safety!  Tee hee.

Okay… mental note:  Ask Lili and Eddie to bring a babysitter on their next shoot.  :)

[In case you’re curious, here was Lili and Eddie’s shoot in December 2009 and June 2009.]

  2. Annie!
How am I supposed to pick my favorite one or two or three! These are all sooooo awesome. I just love all the backdrops and especially how real my boys look.

I absolutely the love the very last photo in the tunnel. Eddie totally got into it when you said to look like we want to make another baby :) If we only had more than 3 seconds….

I also really like the one of the boys closing the gate. There is something really magical about that garden. Looks a bit like a fairly tale.

Speaking of fairy tales, the light in that one shot of Benji is just magical!

And I was so happy to see that the one inside the spiral worked out. It’s actually super super cool.

Oh Annie, I love you soooo much :)

Like I said this was our very best shoot together. I can’t wait to see the rest.

  4. Amy: Yes yes yes! Please email me when you are ready! Can’t wait.

    Kai: Thank you.

Lili: I think Eddie really wants another baby! :) I feel like it will be a girl this time.

I think the gate shot looks magical bec of the light inside the garden and the wide angle perspective on the gate. Plus I was able to capture your faces between the bars, which makes this image “work”, and then oomphed it in post-processing!

I loved this photoshoot too with all the various backdrops, and the boys were happy and willing to try anything! I still love your previous shoots bec those capture other slices of your life. I can’t wait til our next urban shoot together!
