The Feels

Maybe Brendan hypnotized me with his teddy bear cuteness when I first met him at 16-months old because his baby shoot reminded me to see life's silver-lining. Seeing him now at 5 years old last weekend had a similar effect.

I found myself skipping around with glee like a little kid. He and I were talked about bugs and getting driving tickets on the sidewalk! By the end, I even confidently broke out a 'where do cows hang their artwork' joke. It was pretty funny...or embarrassing, depending on who was listening. (Answer to the joke is the MOOseum, if anyone was wondering - teehee.)

When I was going through the images after the shoot, I had ALL THE FEELS. I thought about the end of the shoot when I gave Brendan a hug and said, "I hope to see you soon." Without skipping a beat, he answered: "I hope to see you ALL the time!" Oh my heart.

Isn't this what life is all about?!! It's not about acquiring objects or going to fancy places. It's about experiences, yes. But some experiences can be bland or harmful, which are not ideal.

Life is about the feels -- joy, love, gratitude, passion, excitement, (facing) fear, courage, curiosity, hopefulness. These are the moments that propel us to make space in our hearts and fill our mental book of memories.
